Boiler Upgrade Scheme
ENTHALVIA heat pump water heaters can form part of a heating and hot water system funded under the government's Boiler Upgrade Scheme. Eligibility depends on your home and the full system installed, so ask your installer whether your property qualifies.
Grant eligibility and amounts are set by the government and can change. ENTHALVIA does not administer grants; your installer applies on your behalf. Information correct at October 2026.
0% VAT on installation
Installing a heat pump currently qualifies for 0% VAT as an energy-saving measure, until 31 March 2027.
Lower running costs
Our heat pump water heaters typically use around a third of the electricity of a standard immersion heater for the same hot water.

Scope and official guidance
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme operates in England and Wales. A standalone hot-water-only upgrade is not eligible. Ofgem permits hot water heat pumps as supplementary appliances within an eligible system; the main heat pump must meet the home’s full space-heating needs.
The VAT relief applies to qualifying installations in residential accommodation and buildings used solely for relevant charitable purposes. Supply-only purchases are standard-rated.
Running-cost assumptions and official sources
The electricity comparison reflects heat-pump operation at TCL’s published test COP of 3.30–3.50. Actual use depends on air temperature, hot water demand, settings and use of the back-up element. It excludes any extra energy needed to replace heat taken from a heated room.
